Let yourself be inspired by people who thank nature for painting: The tribes of the Omo valley in Ethiopia.
I came across an article on the web that talked about and documented Hans Silvester’s photo of some young members of Ethiopian tribes, and I was fascinated with how one stays in front of something pure and uncontaminated, and how it so wonderfully related to being men on this earth.
If in my painting I succeed in transmitting what these bodies in the photos transmitted to me, I feel more powerful than Picasso, more colorful than Matisse, and more like a child than Chagall.
These people don’t see exhibitions, they don’t see television, and they don’t have cell phones, yet they are amazing artists connected with the universe.
